The Grips should fit any “standard” spec 1911 Grips (based on the original Colt 1911), and under the grips should be a completely flat inner surface, with the screw holes 79.6 mm apart. Timber, being a natural product, does not always provide a 100% smooth and consistent finish and may have irregularities dues to grain direction, knot imperfections and general “softness” of timber, which makes it prone to marking easily. Also, in our harsh Australian climate, products containing timber should be stored out of direct sunlight, away from extremes in temperature fluctuations and protected from excessive exposure to humidity.
